Ok...an hour and 20 minute nap and my time is up because I hear little man on the monitor! You are all updated! Now I need to go grab my baby and hug him and love him and change him and play with him.......and possibly brush my teeth.......maybe sweep the floor........hey...is there a maid out there somewhere.....or even an organizer of some sort? How about a housekeeper, organizer, chore doer............well enough wishing! Gotta go get the boy......Cody is somewhere doing manly stuff......shims....stain...lawnmowing...something! Catch you all later!!!! I should really pee too, and maybe shower......these are the days of our lives.............and we LOVE it!
8 Months
We cannot believe that our little Brodie, our miracle baby, our Christmas baby, the one that wouldn't come out, the one that without modern medicine, wouldn't have come out and we'd have both been gone, the one that was so tiny and could fit on the length of my forearm, the baby that scared us night one, with low sugar, and IV's and some breathing issues, the little precious, wonder............8 months old! God is great! Brodie is a gift and every day with him is a joy!
Give me that camera mama!

7 Months and Baby Group!
Hello all! Since I didn't get an official "7 Month" post posted, these will have to do! These are the photos taken by Darcie J. Braaten. The photographer that did our "hospital" shoot. These are "The Great 8" as I like to call them. And all of their wonderful moms and my friends! We all had our babies this winter and have been enjoying all of our get togethers immensely. Here's some photos for you to enjoy and our 7 month, non smiling, charmer!
House Updates
Here's the new flooring. Story below!
We, are desperately trying to repair and update a few things in the house to get it back on the market. Thanks to Linda Buchmann, a new kitchen floor and new border downstairs, fresh paint on the front door and a nice little plant stand all got completed or added the last two Saturdays. Cody and I are trying to do more today and tomorrow. It is hard with an 8 month old to get all of our tasks completed! But we choose him over anything and are thankful for that choice! (In other words, we are not complaining!) We continue to pack up things, sort and clean as best we can and hope to have the sign on the lawn by the end of the week. Did I mention Brodie is still sick and so am I and Cody's back is out? But we'll motor on!
The Pioneer Woman
OK....my newest obsession is...thepioneerwomen.com. My sister-in-law Kristi got me hooked on the website. We, yes I said we, have read their entire love story and are waiting for the next installment. It's all about the "city girl" who was going to live in Chicago and gave it all up for a rancher in OK. It is such a great story and she's a very entertaining writer...and photographer. Her site has photos, stories, daily updates, home and gardening posts and a great section on cooking with step by step instructions and photos.
The whole point in telling you this is I have been making some of them. I was so proud that I made a good, tasty and pretty meal last week, that I had to take a picture of it! We enjoyed it about 845 at night after little man was fast asleep...candles...wine.....lovely "plated" meal.........wait...is that a bite out of all of it already.....crap...I forgot to take the picture before I dug in..........well....you'll get the gist of it anyway. It was a great meal of crispy yogurt chicken, CRASH! hot potatoes and a wedge salad with ranch, feta and dill and a lovely Riesling to go with it. I highly recommend http://www.thepioneerwoman.com/
1 Year Anniversary
Cody and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on August 11th. We got all dressed up, really we did! Even though we forgot to get pictures, it's true I swear! As I was saying, we got all dressed up, hired a sitter and told her we'd be home by 11 pm or so. We left about 615 and proceeded to have a very nice dinner at Peter's on Lake Ripley. Nice view and great food. Then it was 715. What to do now? It was a Monday after all. We headed over to this little saloon in Darwin ,that I have always wanted to check out. I have a thing for tiny, inviting looking, old west inspired saloons. Well, it was just your average, run of the mill, small town pub. The kind that I've only experienced in MN. The kind where there is beer and soda and mixers and you have to provide your own liquor. I still don't "get" that. If someone knows what that's all about, please explain!
We had a beer and talked and watched some Olympics and then we decided to go home. It was 900! 915 we pay the babysitter and then we had a great time playing "Guitar Hero" and "You Don't Know Jack", which I apparently don't! We had a fun evening! Brodie fared well with the sitter and wow.....I guess we are old. 915......................................915! Sheesh!
We are still totally blown away by how fast this year has gone and are enjoying one another and every single minute of us and our family!

Weekend with Jeff, Kristi, Aidyn & Nolan
The first weekend in August, Brodie and I came to see Jeff and Kristi and the kiddos and Cody joined us early Sunday a.m. as he got home VERY late from work the night before. We had a lovely visit and always enjoy every minute with my brother and his family! We LOVE you all to pieces!!!
Here are Aidyn, myself and Jeff rockin' out with Rock Band. What a fun game!

McCabes
The last weekend in July, Cody, Brodie and I went to Curt and Betty McCabes for a mini-reunion. We got to see Mike McCabe and his wife Amy and son Davis. It was a pleasure to meet his family and great to see Mike again. To me he hadn't changed at all. We also got to visit with Dwight and Alisa, Donna, Craig and Brett, Patsy, Norman, Lee, Betty and Curt, and Mom and Dad. It was a lovely day with good weather, great food and wonderful company! (Apparently these are mini pictures too!)
Catching Up!
Trying to Stand by himself!
I will try, try to catch up with our site tomorrow. Or....later today as I guess it is 0017 as I sit here typing. It just took me an hour to upload and crop and title and save all of the pictures I need to share! Then Brodie woke up screaming and I spent the last 20 minutes tryin' to get him back to sleep. I can't believe our little baby is 8 months old today. My how time flies! WAY TOO FAST! He's been sick since a week ago Sunday. Cold, snotty, runny nose, cough etc...and Saturday I took him in and he's got an ear infection too. On top of all of that, he is cutting a fourth tooth! I will post more tomorrow with lots of pix! (At least that's the plan)!
Here's my little babe.....8 months.....unbelievable!

We are still kickin
Hey everybody, I notice its been almost a month since my dear sweet wife has posted anything new. I can't believe she hasn't found the time to post in between her spa treatments and fund raisers....so I thought I had better post something just to let you all know that we are still kickin! Its not like anything exciting has been happening around here in the last month. Brodie cut his 3rd tooth.....apparently not blogworthy, we celebrated our 1st anniversary.....also not blog worthy, I was recently nominated to be the head of the U.N.'s security council....deffinately not blog worthy!! Ok Ok only two of those are true, I will let you all guess which two. I probably shouldn't be giving Lisa such a hard time about not keeping up with the blog because we have been very busy, with Brodie wanting so badly to walk every chance he can find a helping set of hands, and trying to get the house in ship shape so we can get it back on the market, Oh ya, that work thing tends to get in the way also. Well I hope this little post will content you all til Lisa has a few spare moments to actually post something worth looking at.
