Update on Tanner
Tanner is doing better, he is recovering. He went and found a frisbee today when he was outside and brought it to us to throw. That's a VERY good sign!

Tanner's Tumor
Hello everyone. Tanner is home now and recovering from a 2 and 1/2 hour surgery to attempt to remove a cancerous mast cell tumor. This is the same one he had about 4 years ago, only this time it came back bigger and has gotten into some lymph nodes. They tried to remove it all, but could not remove some by his right front leg without amputating that leg. The vet said dogs Tanner's age don't do well with 3 legs, so he took out what he could. He also took out some muscle as well. Tanner is on antibiotics and pain meds and for the rest of his life he will be one daily high does of benadryl and also a zantac a day. These are to help slow the regrowth of this tumor as it will come back. Hopefully he'll recover soon and can at least have one more enjoyable summer. He is a very special dog.

First Cold
Brodie has also been getting over his first cold. He's doing much better today, but it was very hard to see him sick for the first time, and even harder for me to go to work the first night he was sick. Poor Cody didn't sleep a wink, he was up all night making sure little man was breathing. His cough is better and he's sneezing less, so he seems to be almost better. That darn daycare! I knew it would happen, I just didn't think it would be so soon! But Brodie's new favorite thing is to put his little hands all the way in his mouth, so guess where the germs go!
Tanner, my 9 year old yellow lab, had to go in for surgery this morning. The cancer he had 4 years ago is back and it was the size of a baseball when I got him in today. They took out what they could, but it has spread into his lymph nodes. Rather than do chemo and radiation, (which would make him sick and maybe only buy him an extra month), we opted to just remove what could be removed and keep him on medicine for pain and antihistamines to help possibly slow any regrowth. We will keep you posted. He will be at the vets overnight for pain management.
First Tattoo
Brodie got to stay with Auntie Kristi and cousins Aidyn and Nolan yesterday while Daddy went to a meeting and Mommy got some sleep after working nights. Apparently little Nolan is getting "tattoos" for going in the potty. Look what greated me when I went to change Brodie yesterday afternoon!!!! I was a tad shocked until I figured out what it was! Then I LMAO!!!! Oh dear...what else will little Nolan be teaching Brodie....................keep tuned in for more to find out~
